Fulc - Review

For Fulc’s sake get hammered this spring!

Leeds’ answer to Soil hit the road this spring on the back of their debut album ‘Biting Insomnia’ (out now on Stunted Records) to undertake a tour that had to be rescheduled from November, as singer Duane Walker was taken ill. This could have been a blessing in disguise because Fulc’s reputation has been growing, as many people are starting to take note of their laudable attempt to instil some much needed passion and integrity into their brand of rock. Their set is likely to include highlight track from the album ‘Dolly’, not an ode to a groundbreaking sheep, but a lament about someone who just does not fit in;

Music - Fulc

“Dolly did you break your back on the way back down?

You didn’t play the game right, you didn’t play the rules that were

given to you.”

Discordant guitars and chugging bass are likely to get many a pit bouncing when this track reverberates around tiny venues, the song is so cutting the paint is liable to start peeling off the venue walls.

Fulc will also be showcasing new material on this tour and it is worth going along just to see if they can follow up what they have already achieved and even build on it. They have been attracting the attention of some of the bigger labels, indicating that this could be the last chance you will have to catch them in a tiny venue. Although, one thing is for sure no matter how big they come the down to earth Yorkshire men will not change. This is what makes them so compelling and refreshing.
