Legendary Bollywood film producer YASH JOHAR died in a Bombay hospital on Saturday (26JUN04). He was 75.

The creator of Indian movie hits KABHI KHUSHI KABHI GAM (SOMETIMES JOY, SOMETIMES GRIEF) and DOSTANA (Friendship) died of a chest infection, and had been suffering from cancer for some time.

The cream of India's film industry attended Johar's cremation at the SHIVAJI PARK CREMATORIUM in Dadar on Sunday (27JUN04), including superstars Amitabh Bachchan, SHAH RUKH KHAN and director AZIZ MIRZA.

CHALTE CHALTE creator Miza said, "He had a tremendous journey in Bollywood. Though he grew to great heights he never forgot his roots."

Director MADHUR BHANDARKAR added, "He was very good man with great calibre, and he was a very down to earth person. It is a big loss to the film industry."

Johar began his film career over 50 years ago, working as a junior production executive, and started his own production house DHARMA PRODUCTIONS in 1976.
