Rapper French Montana has reunited with his estranged father as part of a magazine article on his Moroccan roots.
The rising hip-hop star, who is signed to Sean 'Diddy' Combs' Bad Boy Records label, moved to New York City with his family when he was 13, but two years later his dad returned to Africa.
He tells Fader Magazine, "He had a lick (business) over there. But that lick went wrong. He was trying to bring us back (to Morocco) with him, but my mother wouldn't let him. She was like, 'I'm not letting them go back over there, ain't no opportunity over there.' So he went back, and she stayed with us."
The rapper, real name Karim Kharbouch, had not seen his father in 15 years, but for the publication's upcoming October (12) issue, he took editors back to his home country to document the reunion.
Taking his younger brother Ayoub with him, he met up with his father, an uncle and cousins, and even visited his grandmother's grave.
And Ayoub admits it was tough seeing his dad after such a long time: "He's got so many pictures of me and Karim in there."
Before the budding star left, he handed his dad a parting gift - $10,000 (Gbp6,250) in cash.
