Franz Ferdinand are set to play a number of low-key Scottish gigs in September following on from a summer of brief live appearances.
The band will tour a few small venues in their homeland and are set to debut a few new songs in their sets.
Franz are currently writing their third album with a release date in the early part of 2008 pencilled in and the shows are likely to form part of their recording rehearsals.
The small tour will begin at Stirling Fubar on September 9th before calling at Inverness Raigmore and Fort William Ba Club.
A date at Dundee Fat Sams will follow before shows at Aberdeen Moshulu, Portree Community Centre and Shetland Whiteness and Weisdale Hall.
Franz frontman Alex Kapranos and guitarist Nick McCarthy have been busy since the band took a break after their last album You Could Have It So Much Better.
Kapranos produced the Cribs' latest LP Men's Needs Women's Needs Whatever while McCarthy worked on his side project Box Codax.
The band first arrived on the scene in 2003 with their debut, self-titled album which included the singes Take Me Out, Dark of the Matinee and Michael.
