Franz Ferdinand have been named and shamed in a US investigation into shocking "pay-for-play" tactics on American radio.
It emerged last week (ends12AUG05) that the Scottish rockers' US label Epic bribed radio stations with free trips in return for airplay of their massive breakthrough hit TAKE ME OUT.
However, the band's manager CERNE CANNING insists far worse goes on behind closed doors in the music industry, and the staggering amount of airplay the track received is "only a part of" why the stars are so successful in the US.
He says, "Compared to the Fifties, Sixties and Seventies, anything that goes on now is tame.
"It doesn't surprise me, but I think procedures will change now. All companies pretty much do the same thing to gain an advantage."
