Franz Ferdinand are encouraging fans to download live versions of unreleased tracks that are being considered for release on their upcoming second album.
The TAKE ME OUT band recently played a gig at the B2 Club in Moscow, Russia, and fans have now posted four tracks - EVIL AND A HEATHEN, I'M YOUR VILLAIN, WHAT YOU MEANT and YOU CAN HAVE IT SO MUCH BETTER - recorded at the concert on the forum at FRANZFERDINAND.ORG.
But instead of deleting the exclusive material, the band's management are encouraging fans to download the songs - as they might not make it onto the as-yet-untitled record, due out this autumn (05).
A spokesman says, "We don't have a problem with fans getting a sneak preview of the songs. They are all great tracks and it is a good advert for the album.
"These are not definitive versions though and there is no guarantee they will be on the final cut because the band have a lot of songs other than the ones played in Russia.
"But once they have been played live they are in the public domain, so we would encourage people to go and have a listen."10/06/2005 14:00
