Frank Zappa's son AHMET has inked a $1.5 million (GBP833,000) deal for film rights to his novel MONSTROUS MEMOIRS OF A MIGHTY McFEARLESS - before it's even been published.
The story follows a brother and sister who discover their family is part of a dynasty of monster hunters. They subsequently team up to fight the most horrific creature in the universe.
Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films managed to seal a deal for film rights to the book, which first-time writer Zappa also illustrated.
He tells Daily Variety, "I wrote the book for kids, and all these grown-ups are telling me they enjoyed it."
The novel is scheduled to hit shelves in August (06).
