Frank Ocean has received praise for his new album 'Channel Orange'.
The 24-year-old singer/songwriter surprised fans by releasing his Def Jam debut on Monday (09.07.12), one week earlier than planned and the emotional record has already been receiving rave reviews and hit the number one spot on iTunes.
Taletela.com says that '''Channel Orange' is a cleverly produced and lyrically arranged debut from Ocean that explores a bit more into the thoughts of the Louisianan singer and songwriter.''
All Hip Hop added: ''Frank Ocean is such a natural talent that he doesn't need any outside controversy to draw attention to himself.''
Last week, Frank posted a letter on his Tumblr account which revealed his first love was a man.
He wrote: ''Four summers ago, I met somebody. I was 19 years old. He was too. We spent that summer, and the summer after, together. It was hopeless.''
After his announcement, Beyonce Knowles posted a photo of Ocean on her official blog, Beyonce.com, and added a poem of support superimposed over the image.
The text reads: ''Be fearless. Be honest. Be generous. Be brave. Be poetic. Be open. Be free. Be yourself. Be in love. Be happy. Be inspiration.''
