Foy Vance Announces UK And Eire 2013 Winter Headline Tour

Following the release of his Glassnote Records debut album JOY OF NOTHING (out August 26th) Foy Vance will embark on an extensive UK headline tour this November. The dates form the UK leg of the JOY OF NOTHING World Tour, which also takes in the US & Europe, and will include a London headline show at KOKO, Foy's biggest headline show to date.

Before The Tour Begins, Foy Will Be Launching Joy Of Nothing With An In-Store Show At Rough Trade East, 7pm On Thursday 29th August.

Recorded in Donegal, Ireland and produced by Irish producer/musician/engineer Michael Keeney, JOY OF NOTHING includes 10 original songs written and performed by Foy Vance and includes very special guest appearances by Ed Sheeran (on 'Guiding Light') and Bonnie Raitt (on 'You And I'). JOY OF NOTHING is an evolving journey, a constant search for artistic expression captured in the moment, operating well away from industry standards. You'll hear echoes of Otis Redding, Richie Havens, Tom Waits and Van Morrison in Foy's music, legends he's already being compared to and definite influences.

Originally from Bangor, Northern Ireland, Foy has spent a considerable amount of time on the road, touring with Michael Kiwanuka, Marcus Foster, Snow Patrol (Foy also sang backing vocals on 'Fallen Empires' in 2011) and Ed Sheeran, who he supported on his recent US tour. Foy also scored Oscar-winning short-film 'The Shore' with David Holmes, who collaborated with Vance on his 2012 'Melrose EP'. Foy recently supportedBonnie Raitt on her UK tour, and this summer will appear at Festivals in UK, Europe and the US, including T In The Park, Truck Festival, Outside Lands in San Francisco, Squamish in British Columbia, CA and Lyons Folk Festival in Colorado.
