Frenetic UK punk rock trio Fawn Spots have signed to Critical Heights to join their esteemed roster of acts including Keel Her, Virginia Wing, Honeyslide, Scraps, Dead Rat Orchestra and Savaging Spires.
They'll be joining ex-Critical-Heights-now-Fire hot shots Scott & Charlene's Wedding on part of their mega-UK tour throughout the Summer. Shows include the launch party for S&CW's forthcoming album Any Port in A Storm on 6th July at the Dalston Victoria and dates in Sheffield, Newcastle, York, Manchester and Derby.
To celebrate, the bands will also be releasing a split 7" in August featuring a new Fawn Spots track "Basin" and a previously unreleased, non-album S&CW track, "Lucky Charms".
Devotees of early Joy Divison/Warsaw, Husker Du and Rites of Spring, Fawn Spots are razor edged and lightning fast. Short blasts of hyperactive noise - thrashing guitars and rhythmic beat are kept together by bittersweet melodies.
Their tightly coiled songs draw on the raw power of post-punk and post-hardcore, punctuated by flashes of garage rock. Delivered with fever, their often dramatic, always entertaining and ridiculously energetic live show is a must for fans of eighties American and British punk and early college rock.
They all have 'proper' jobs - Fawn Spots is their way of getting through the week and coping with "another day at the office" Monday through Friday.
Fawn Spots released their Wedding Dress split LP in February 2013 on both Bad Paintings (their own label) and the infamous Burger Records (US).
They will also be playing a bunch of shows with Brooklyn band The Babies from 19th - 22nd June.
