FAWLTY TOWERS star John Cleese has ruled out reviving the hit TV comedy, because the cast are all "too old and tired".
The sitcom, about a grumpy hotel owner, aired in 1975 and went on to become one of Britain's all-time classic comedy programmes.
Cleese reunited with his former co-stars Prunella Scales, Andrew Sachs and co-creator and ex-wife Connie Booth for the first time in 30 years on Wednesday (06May09) for a TV event.
But the funnyman, 69, has vowed never to resurrect the show, admitting he risks ruining the legacy of the programme.
He says, "It took so much energy to do that show.
"I think everyone would be excited if we did it (a new series). The problem is, when you do do something that is generally accepted as being very good, a horrible problem arises which is, how do you top it? The expectation of what you will do is so high."
