Rockers Fall Out Boy have decided to retire their cover version of Michael Jackson's BEAT IT as a sign of respect for the late King of Pop.
The pop-punk band delighted fans when they began performing the hit live in concert, and in 2008, they teamed up with singer John Mayer to record the track, before filming a music video and releasing Beat It as a single.
But bassist Pete Wentz insists they have no plans to play the song again, following Jackson's death in June (09).
He tells, "We never got the chance to (meet) him. I don't even know if he heard it. We kind of recorded it on a whim, like, nine months before he passed away. We've decided not to play it anymore. It's his song, you know? We put it on the record because we did a video for it, but it's definitely his song."
