Today Factory Floor is pleased to release the latest remix for the band's track "How You Say" by Berlin's Helena Hauff. In the hands of the Werkdiscs/Ninja Tune affiliate, Factory Floors' original industrial motornik is taken and twisted into an acid house stomp. The remix is a part of "How You Say" EP series set for release on DFA this spring divided up into two digital EPs and three physical 12" EPs. The EPs feature the "How You Say" original, as well as remixes from Daniel Avery, Invisible Conga People, Gunnar Haslam, Bookworms, and Helena Hauff.
Factory Floor is pleased to announce that they re returning to the U.S. in 2014. Following a successful run of East Coast dates this past December, the band is returning to the U.S. first for a series of West Coast shows including stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Portland, as well as a coveted date at Coachella. Factory Floor is also returning to the East Coast, performing at Moogfest in Asheville, Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, and U Street Music Hall in D.C. Full tour dates below.
The news caps off a momentous 12 months for Factory Floor. Following years of anticipation, 2013 saw the band release Factory Floor, their long-awaited debut on DFA Records. The album was recorded and mixed by the band in their North London warehouse space.
Factory Floor in its current, fully formed incarnation got together in late 2009 when guitarist/vocalist Nik Colk Void joined the dark-hearted, 21st Century rhythm section of drummer Gabe Gurnsey and synth player Dominic Butler. Within months their astonishing gigs had earned them a devoted audience in the UK. In the two years after the trio formed they released a number of EPs and 12"s on labels such as Blast First Petite and Optimo while all the time their live sound was shifting away from an all-out noise assault into a much more spacious and confident exploration of techno, minimal, acid and post-industrial rhythms.
