Rockers Evanescence have postponed a dozen dates on their American tour as they prime new guitarist TERRY BALSAMO to take over from departed co-founder Ben Moody.

Moody quit the group in the middle of a European tour, amid reports he'd split with girlfriend and group singer Amy Lee.

The group performed the first scheduled date of the tour in Mexico City, Mexico, on Wednesday (19NOV03), but they've decided to work on their live act before continuing with shows.

The groups supporting Evanescence on tour - GODHEAD, Finger Eleven and Seether, featuring Lee's new boyfriend SHAUN MORGAN - are now expected to book new shows.

Evanescence plan to pick up the tour in Canada on 12 December (03).
