Evanescence's THE OPEN DOOR shifted 447,000 copies in American during its first week of release, while Ludacris' RELEASE THERAPY falls to number six with sales of 113,000. At number two is a new entry for The Killers with second album SAM'S TOWN, while GEORGE STRAIT is another new entry at number three with IT JUST COMES NATURAL. Tony Bennett's DUETS: AN AMERICAN CLASSICS falls a place to number four, while Justin Timberlake sits at number five with FUTURESEX/LOVESOUNDS.
