The newly-engaged former Desperate Housewives star grew up on a Texas ranch, and admits it was the perfect setting for the holidays.

The land surrounding the property allowed her family to celebrate with a firework display.

"I grew up on a ranch, and we used to have Christmas with fireworks," she recalls. "We were horribly irresponsible all the time. We would shoot them at each other, and we would light it in our hands...

"I lit a bottle rocket one time and it went crooked and straight into the bushes, but I didn't worry about it. We continued to play with fireworks. But then I turned around and the entire ranch was on fire."

"We were like (characters from) Little House on the Prairie with giant buckets of water trying to get this fire out. Luckily we were able to get it out, but ever since, my family has never let me forget the Christmas that I caught (sic) the ranch on fire. It forever haunts me."
