AMERICAN PIE star Eugene Levy, SIR Sean Connery, Steve Martin, Gene Hackman and Alec Baldwin have been handed Father's Day (18JUN06) honours for their comical portrayals of dads on the big screen. The quintet form half of US magazine Entertainment Weekly's Funniest Movie Dads poll. Levy gets a nod for playing JIM'S DAD in the American Pie movies, Martin for GIL BUCKMAN in PARENTHOOD and former JAMES BOND star Connery is a top pop thanks to his portrayal of INDIANA JONES' father. Meanwhile, Hackman's comedic role as ROYAL TENENBAUM in The Royal Tenenbaums and Baldwin's portrayal of DUNPHY in Outside Providence also made the list. The remaining Father's Day honours go to Robin Williams and Nathan Lane for their parts as gay dads in The Birdcage, new dad Adam Sandler, who got a taste for fatherhood in Big Daddy and Chevy Chase, who gets a special mention for his role as bumbling CLARK GRISWOLD in the National Lampoon's Vacation movies. Also on the list are Dustin Hoffman's portrayal of BERNIE FOCKER in Meet The Fockers and Alan Arkin and Peter Falk, who played mad dads in 1979's The In-Laws.
