Eric Clapton is remaining tight-lipped about whether Britney Spears spent time at his Antigua rehabilitation centre, but insists she would have received the best care available if she had attended.
The troubled pop superstar was reported to have checked into Clapton's Crossroads facility in the Caribbean for a one-night stay in February (07) to deal with her drink and drugs demons, shortly before her highly-publicised trip to a California hair salon where she shaved off her blonde locks.
But rocker Clapton admits he would know little more about Spears' alleged stay than the rest of the world's media.
He tells talk show host Larry King, "That's not for me to divulge. I mean I probably know as much as you so I can't confirm it, but it would be nice if she was. I think it's a good place.
"It's a beautiful part of the world. It has a very, very solid program, a good staff. I mean, it's one place you can go and really kind of focus on getting straight. And there's no distraction there and it's run on the 12-step principles."
