GRAMMY-winning musician Eric Clapton has had his handprints and signature set in stone, after being inducted into Hollywood's Rockwalk yesterday (09AUG04).

Clapton, 59, received a commemorative plaque and had imprints of his hands and signature installed in marble at the entrance to Sunset Boulevard's GUITAR CENTER in Los Angeles.

The Rockwalk was established in 1985 to honour musicians who have made a significant contribution to the history of music.

Clapton joins a long list of stars who have received the honour in the past, including Smokey Robinson, Bb King, AC/DC and Aerosmith.
