Country singer Eric Church was forced to cancel a concert in West Virginia at the last minute on Friday (29Jun12) after storm warnings were issued.
The Drink in My Hand hitmaker was set to headline the Mitchell Stadium in Bluefield, but before opening act Jake Owen could take to the stage, organisers advised the show should be axed due to heavy rain, according to music website CountryWeekly.com.
Fans were evacuated from the venue, and Owen reached out to them in a post on his Twitter.com page.
He wrote, "One of the very few nights in my career where we had to cancel due to weather. Sorry y'all (sic). WV, we'll make it up to ya."
It was Church's second gig in less than a month that was affected by the weather - his planned appearance at a New York festival on 1 June (12) was cancelled due to heavy wind and rain.
