Enrique Iglesias is desperate to return to Spain to be with his mother ISABEL PREYSLER in the aftermath of last week's (11MAR04) Madrid train bombings.

The 28-year-old singer arrived in Brisbane for his Australian tour to hear news of the terrorist attack which killed 201 passengers on three rush hour trains.

He paid tribute to the dead at his gig in Sydney on Sunday (14MAR04), holding a minutes silence while onstage - but admits he is keen to return to Madrid.

Enrique - who was born in the city but moved to America when he was seven - says, "It feels so awkward being here, on the other side of the world, with something so horrible happening in the city where I grew up. I feel so much anger and so much pain."
