Emilio Estevez was so broke while he was writing and selling the script for his new movie BOBBY he was reduced to signing 'trading cards' to save his Hollywood home. The BREAKFAST CLUB star was so committed to making the film, which focuses on the last 16 hours of political hero Robert F Kennedy before he was assassinated in 1968, he held back his career to complete it. He says, "You do what you have to do to keep the wolves on the other side of the door. "I cashed in my pension fund, I sold artwork; at one point I was signing these cards that had my likeness on them, like a trading card, to make a house payment. It was pretty sad." Fortunately for Estevez, his passion for the project won out and the film was picked up. Then, a slew of big names, including ex-fiancee Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, SIR Anthony Hopkins, Lindsay Lohan and William H Macy signed up to star in the movie on the cheap. Bobby, which is released in America today (17NOV06), is being tipped for a handful of Oscars.
