Scottish soul star Emeli Sande is a married woman after exchanging vows with her longtime boyfriend in his native Montenegro on Saturday (15Sep12).
The Next To Me hitmaker wed her partner of seven years, marine biologist Adam Gouraguine, in a low-key ceremony in the exclusive marina Porto Montenegro, according to reports.
Sande is now planning to take her husband's last name as she wants to fully embrace his family's culture.
In an interview on local TV, she said, "I want to be the part of his life and his family, so I want to add his surname. I would also love to have a Montenegrin passport. I want to be part of his tradition.
"I grew up in a family of two different cultural backgrounds, so I embraced both. One day when we have kids, I'd like them to be the part of these two different cultures."
But the trip to Southeastern Europe wasn't all play - Sande, who was the only star to perform at the London Olympics Opening and Closing ceremonies, kept busy even on the eve of her big day and performed a free gig for locals at a nightclub in the town of Kotor on Friday (14Sep12).
