Sir Elton John stunned the crowds at the National Association of Music Merchants convention in Anaheim, California on Friday (25Jan13) by showing off his piano talents on a new Yamaha.

The Brit took to the stage at the Hyperion Theater in Disney's California Adventure theme park to help Yamaha bosses display their Disklavier Tv and RemoteLive Technology.

The pioneering technology enabled Sir Elton to play remote pianos stationed across the globe in real time.

Yamaha's artist relations guru Chris Gero told, "This technology represents an all-new level of interactivity when it comes to performance. It totally changes the game. To be able to transmit like this is just the beginning and when Elton heard about the technology he stepped right up and said he wanted to be the guy to deliver it for the first time."

Elton wasn't the only star showing off the latest Yamaha equipment and technology - Amy Grant, Chaka Khan, Earth, Wind and Fire, Michael MCDonald, Sarah MCLachlan and Toto also played.

The Rocket Man performed with a 75-piece orchestra, which was conducted by film composer and former Elton John band member James Newton Howard.
