Flamboyant rocker SIR Elton John performed a special charity concert in Paris yesterday (23JAN05), to raise money for the victims of December's (04) Indian Ocean tsunami.

The 57-year-old singer entertained a crowd of 2,700 at the French capital's Bastille opera house, with proceeds going to the FONDATION POUR L'ENFANCE (Foundation for Childhood), which hopes to rebuild a children's shelter in Sri Lanka.

During the three-hour concert, John paid tribute to his longterm lover David Furnish, saying, "Throughout the years, I've done a lot of drugs and alcohol. It's true that I was a nightmare, impossible. For the last 14 years I've been normal. Now my drug is called David."

John will also be contributing to Sharon Osbourne's tsunami charity single TEARS IN HEAVEN.
