British rocker SIR Elton John celebrated his 56th birthday by hosting the most childish birthday possible.

The CANDLE IN THE WIND singer saw in his big day on 25 March (03) at one of his favourite haunts - the HAMBURGER HAMLET in West Hollywood, California.

The 90 guests, including Mike Myers, Sheryl Crow, Ed Norton, Salma Hayek, Melissa Etheridge, Eric Mccormack and Sean Hayes, were fed burgers and hot dogs, and were surrounded by balloons, confetti, paper tablecloths and crayons.

The only adult touches to the bash were real flowers on the huge chocolate cake, and pink champagne.

A reveller says, "Except for the champagne, it was just like a kid's party."

At the end of the night, a sports utility vehicle pulled up to the restaurant so that security guards could load up Elton's barrage of gifts.
