SIR Elton John set up his AIDS Foundation to acknowledge all the "bullets" he'd dodged with his rock 'n' roll lifestyle. The crusading singer admits he's lucky to be alive, and vowed to do all he could to give others the same chance of survival too. In an ACCESS HOLLYWOOD interview to air on Friday (29SEP06) he says, "I've dodged so many bullets. Not just because of unsafe sex, but because of the amount of drugs I did, the amount of alcohol, the amount of work I was doing. "I started the Elton John AIDS Foundation because I got so lucky." Since setting up the charity in 1992, John has distributed more than $60 million (GBP33 million) to global HIV prevention efforts.
