A father accused of attacking British TV star Elliott Tittensor turned his back on officials in court on Tuesday (11Jan11) to protest the actor's sentence over a car accident.
John Flint was arrested in November (10) after allegedly punching Tittensor outside a London court just minutes after the Shameless star was fined $1,125 (£750) for his part in a car accident which left Flint's son Oliver with serious injuries.
The teenager was hurt when Tittensor's car crashed into him in August (10), although an attempted murder investigation was dropped and the star was charged with driving without insurance.
Flint was accused of disturbing public order but appearing at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court, he refused to face authorities.
When asked to explain why he would not turn around, Flint announced: "Because you're turning your back on my son, so I'm turning my back on the law."
He was warned he would be held in contempt of court if he didn't cooperate, to which Flint responded: "I'll speak to the court when that fellow (Tittensor) gets done for leaving my boy in the gutter for dead. I'm not prepared to talk until he's prosecuted."
The 46 year old was released on unconditional bail until his trial in March (11).
