The 'Anything Could Happen' singer remains friends with dubstep heavyweight Skrillex - real name Sonny Moore - and expects their working relationship to continue, even thought their romance finished last month.
She told The Sun newspaper: ''Me and my ex Sonny are good mates, we're even going to make music together next year. Our own little project which will be released.''
Ellie, 25, previously recorded vocals for Skrillex's track 'Summit' while he produced her track 'Bittersweet', included on the soundtrack to 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2'.
She added: ''Everyone loves the 'Twilight' track. We work really well together, we've found we really do connect in that way. It will be something a bit more electronic, it won't be like my music.''
Ellie blamed the reason for her split from the 'Bangarang' star after seven months because of the distance between them, with him living in the US and her in the UK.
She had previously talked of making a whole record with the producer.
Ellie said: ''I think in an ideal world we'd love to make a whole record. When it comes to music, it honestly is really professional. Honestly.
''If we start talking about music on the phone, it switches immediately to being professional, and not on purpose, but because we're both so passionate about music and it's a very serious thing to us.''
