Ellie Goulding was presented with her first ever UK No. 1 Award by Rita Ora.

The 26-year-old singer was stunned to discover her new track 'Burn', taken from her album 'Halcyon Days', had sold 117,000 copies and climbed to the top of the UK Singles Charts this weekend.

Ellie proudly received her Official Number One Award on Sunday afternoon (18.08.13) from fellow singer Rita, who was at hand backstage at V Festival in England to present her with the prize.

Rita said: ''I'm here to do something very special for somebody really, really pretty and cute. I have to present this amazing Number One Award to somebody who deserves it more than anybody in the world, ladies and gentleman, Miss Ellie Goulding!''

Ellie stammered:''Oh crap. I wanna make it a serious speech, because this is serious for me. Thank you to all the people that supported me for literally four years now.

''It's my first ever UK Number 1 which is crazy, and thank you so much to Radio 1 who played my song for the first time ever, Huw Stevens back in the day, I wanna say thank you for all your support because you've been there always. So yeah... Let's get drunk!''

The British singer's new pop anthem knocked Miley Cyrus' saucy comeback track 'We Can't Stop' off the top spot to number three this weekend, while Avicii's 'Wake Me Up' remained at number two.

Rita has scored three of the Official Charts Company and BBC Radio 1's Official Number 1 Awards for her own chart-storming singles, 'Hot Right Now', 'R.I.P.' and 'How We Do (Party)'.
