Elizabeth Olsen didn't want to rely on her sisters' fame to become successful.

The 22-year-old actress - who is the younger sibling of designer twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen - explained she worked very hard to make it in the film industry because she didn't want people to assume she'd had an easy ride.

When asked if she tried to distance herself from Mary-Kate and Ashley, Elizabeth replied: "I felt it significantly when I was starting college. I really wanted to prove all these things, so I overcompensated.

"I worked as an understudy and basically I had no social life. I wanted to prove that I'm here because I worked to be here. All those complexes."

However, after spending a term in Moscow, Russia, it made her realise she couldn't change who her family are and Elizabeth decided to embrace having famous siblings.

She said added in an interview with G2 magazine: "When I came back I just felt more relaxed and in my skin and OK about it all.

"I think it comes as you get a bit older - you're okay with who you are and where you come from. And I'm so close to my family so why would I have a complex about them? When they're great people and good to me."
