British actress and model Elizabeth Hurley paid tribute to her late employer Estee Lauder at a memorial service for the cosmetics queen yesterday (06MAY04).

The AUSTIN POWERS star, 38, spoke at the service at the exclusive London hotel CLARIDGES.

Hurley says, "Estee and I shared one great passion: fragrance.

"Estee taught me that fragrance is like love; you have to give it abundantly, you can't be stingy. She was a shining example to women everywhere."

Hurley signed to be the face of Lauder's cosmetic and perfumes line in 1994. In 2001 she was demoted to fragrance model when Carolyn Murphy was brought in to advertise the make-up and skincare side of the products.
