Elizabeth Hurley has signed on to play a ruthless media mogul in the forthcoming series of the CW's 'Gossip Girl'. Hurley, who recently starred in NBC's failed 'Wonder Woman' reboot, will join the cast of the teen drama for a multi-episode story arc, according to TVLine.com.
The British actress will go head-to-head with the Upper East Side's flashy residents in the new series, which premieres on 26th September 2011. Executive producers Stephanie Savage and Joshua Safran say the actress will play 'Diana Payne', a "sexy, smart, self-made media mogul and all-around force to be reckoned with". She will reportedly "make her mark" on the show's characters including the 'Gossip Girl' herself. The producers explained, "Elizabeth's sense of humor, intelligence and beauty fit the GG world perfectly.We feel very fortunate to have her". Hurley is likely to juggle filming on the series with her appearance in the forthcoming action-horror movie 'High Midnight', with Rachael Leigh Cook and Vincent D'Onofrio. The movie follows a sheriff who is joins forces with a Victorian vampire hunter to defeat a wave of un-dead attacking a town in New Mexico.
