Elisabeth Moss, the star of hit US drama 'Mad Men', has filed for divorce from her comedian husband Fred Armisen, reports the New York Daily News. The 28-year-old actress began legal action to make her split from Armisen permanent on Monday 20th September 2010.
Moss, who plays copywriter 'Peggy Olson' in the Golden Globe winning show, has cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the cause of the split from the Saturday Night Live star. However, 'Entertainment Tonight' are reporting that Moss listed June 26th 2010 as the date of the couple's separation, only eight months after they were married in a ceremony with family and friends in Long Island City. It was reported back in August that Armisen had already moved on from the marriage breakdown, and was said to be dating his 23-year-old SNL co-star ABBY ELLIOT.
Before being cast in 'Mad Men', Moss had a small role in the drama series 'The West Wing', and appeared in the movie 'Girl, Interrupted', alongside Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie - she also featured briefly in the medical drama 'Grey's Anatomy'. However, after landing a role in Mad Men, she rose to prominence, and was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in 2009.
