U.S. fans of acclaimed movie The Theory Of Everything will be able to compare Eddie Redmayne's portrayal of physicist Stephen Hawking to his pal Benedict Cumberbatch's when the Sherlock star's movie Hawking debuts on cable Tv on Saturday (10Jan15).
Cumberbatch played the professor in 2004 for the Bbc and his film will air on the Discovery Channel on Saturday to mark Hawking's 73rd birthday on Thursday (08Jan15).
Redmayne's portrayal earned the fellow Brit a Golden Globe Award nomination and the ceremony takes place the following day (11Jan15).
Ironically, he's up against Cumberbatch for Best Actor (Motion Picture). The Sherlock star is nominated for his portrayal of World War Two code breaker Alan Turing in The Imitation Game.
