Hollywood actor Dustin Hoffman enjoyed sex in public places and threesomes when he first hit the big time.

The double OSCAR-winner went on love-making binges in top New York clubs and felt he was like a kid in a "candy-store" after The Graduate brought him international fame in 1967.

Hoffman says, "They were the candy-store years because there were drugs, stardom, the Pill. I met a couple of girls in bed more than once, and I had sex in public places - like the STUDIO 54 club in New York."

But the revered actor decided to give up cocaine after the illegal substance left him in a desperate state.

He adds, "I couldn't breathe for weeks afterwards."
