Drew Barrymore and Glenn Close were among the big winners at the 35th annual Gracie Awards on Tuesday night (25May10), which honour the achievements of women in the entertainment industry.
The Los Angeles ceremony, celebrating women's work in radio, television and web-based media, saw Barrymore honoured for her portrayal of real-life recluse Edith Bouvier Beale in TV movie Grey Gardens, and Glenn Close was lauded for her role in TV series Damages.
Jada Pinkett Smith was named Outstanding Producer for her work on medical drama Hawthorne, while 30 Rock was picked as Outstanding Comedy and teen TV show Gossip Girl as Outstanding Drama.
Other winners included teen actress Selena Gomez, who scooped the award for Outstanding Female Rising Star in a Comedy Series for Wizards of Waverly Place, and Sharon Gless who was honoured for her role in Burn Notice.
