Investors in Dreamworks Animation must have exhaled a long sigh of relief today (Monday) after learning that the company's latest release, The Croods, had raked in $34.1 million overseas to raise its foreign total to $206.8 million. Together with the $125.8 million that it brought in domestically, the film has become only the second film this year to top $300 million worldwide (behind Disney's Oz the Great and Powerful.) That's particularly encouraging for DWA investors following last year's Rise of the Guardians money-loser. Shares in the company's stock were up 3.70 percent at midday trading on the NASDAQ.
