The TiK ToK hitmaker made headlines in October (14) when she launched legal action against the producer, real name Lukasz Gottwald, alleging sexual, physical, verbal and emotional abuse.

Dr. Luke hit back with a countersuit shortly afterwards, accusing the pop star of defamation and extortion and claiming she and her mother Pebe threatened to go public with their claims for months unless he released the singer from her contract.

On Friday (20Mar15), a New York Supreme Court judge ruled that the pop star's sexual assault case against Dr. Luke in California should move ahead first before he will consider the counter claims of defamation, and the case has been put on hold until further notice.

Dr Luke's attorneys are appealing against the ruling.
