America's VIBE MUSIC AWARDS will be back next year (05) despite the violence which broke out at the inaugural event earlier this month (15NOV04), resulting in a stabbing.

Vibe magazine president KENARD GIBBS labelled the melee "sickening" and launched an investigation into the rival attitudes within the hip-hop industry in a drive to solve the unrest between certain factions.

Rapper YOUNG BUCK - a member of 50 CENT's backing group G-UNIT - has been charged after allegedly stabbing a man who hit Dr Dre as he was about to receive a lifetime achievement award.

The victim, JIMMY JAMES JOHNSON, suffered a collapsed lung and is in a stable condition at a Los Angeles hospital.

However, Gibbs says not holding future award events would belittle the work the magazine has done to promote rap music.
