Former KNOTS LANDING star Donna Mills is battling arthritis by becoming a spokesperson for a self-help group.

The actress, who played ABBY FAIRGATE CUNNINGHAM EWING on the hit 80s soap, learned she had osteoarthritis in 2000, but has refused to let the condition stop her from living life to the full - and now she wants others with arthritis to get active too.

She says, "My message is - Keep moving. If you do, you'll keep arthritis at bay.

"I'm back to doing everything I used to, loving life as ever."

Mills, 62, admits she did go through a few dark months after being diagnosed.

She adds, "Somebody like me doesn't get arthritis, doesn't get all the other diseases that come along. Well, it happened to me."
