Donna Karan wanted to celebrate the female body with her latest collection.
The designer showcased her autumn/winter 2013/14 range at New York Fashion Week yesterday (11.02.13), which featured tight black suiting, jersey-draped dresses, asymmetric capes and body-sculpting gowns and she says she wants women to feel good in her clothes.
She said: ''It's all about the body,''
Earthy browns, black, metal and rust made up the colour palette and in her show notes, she wrote: ''These are clothes for women like me.''
Donna's A-list pal Uma Thurman was in the front row and the actress was very impressed with the collection.
She told vogue.co.uk: ''I'm a huge fan of hers, it was such a strong collection. Female empowerment is her mission - above and beyond fashion. She's someone who really walks the talk.''
Betsey Johnson also showcased her latest collection yesterday as did Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who presented their new range for high-end label The Row.
The designer twins once again managed to pull off a stylish-yet-practical collection, featuring jumpers, tailored trousers, blazers and tunics.
