Don Johnson was on the verge of retiring from acting when he was offered a lead role in new TV show JUST LEGAL.

Nine years after the last episode of NASH BRIDGES aired, the actor thought he had played his last role.

He tells the New York Daily News, "I wasn't really thinking about doing another series. I was actually thinking about retiring and then my wife reminded me that we have five children so that was out of the question."

Johnson, who plays a washed up lawyer in the drama, was also keen to just act - after also producing Nash Bridges.

He adds, "On Nash Bridges I made a decision every 15 seconds whether I wanted to or not. I didn't want to have responsibilities in this trip back into television. It damn near killed me last time."
