CRANBERRIES singer Dolores O'Riordan faces judgement today (28APR04) over allegations she ill-treated a former nanny.

JOY FAHY claims the LINGER star and husband DON BURTON kept her captive at a remote Canadian holiday home and threatened to confiscate her passport after she raised concerns about the welfare of their baby son TAYLER.

O'Riordan has protested her innocence at the case in Ireland, telling DUBLIN HIGH COURT she had nothing to do with the hiring and firing of her staff, including the nanny suing her for breach of contract and alleged false imprisonment.

Fahy - who worked for the couple in 1999 - claims the clothes she left at their County Limerick home had never been returned and that complaints about expenses and irregular hours had been ignored.

The singer hit back, describing Fahy's allegations as "downright lies".
