The 'Louder' hitmaker has signed a record deal with Columbia Records in the United States and thinks a collaboration with the 'Diamonds' singer, 24, could help launch his career there.
Fresh exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ''Because I'm quite technical, her voice is almost like an instrument. It really sits well over upbeat, dancey kind of stuff. It would be really interesting to work with her.''
The DJ and producer has been fortunate enough to work with all the artists he wanted on his latest album 'Nextlevelism' - including Rita Ora and Dizzee Rascal - and has Rihanna marked as his ''first choice'' for the next album.
He said: ''You have your first choice, and then you have other options if you can't get the person that you really want, but I managed to get all the people I really wanted from Rita, to Dizzee to The Fray.
''It's just worked out really well. When you write tunes where you're relying on featured artists, you want to have the people that you want.''
However, one artist Fresh wouldn't like to work with is Psy, who has had a massive worldwide number one with his Korean language song 'Gangnam Style'.
He added: ''I was joking with someone the other day that it's really easy to remix 'Gangnam Style' because you can just play anything and then stop it and say, 'Gangnam Style' and it works.''
DJ Fresh's new single 'Gold Dust (Shy FX Re-Edit)' is out on Sunday (02.12.12).
