Burlesque babe Dita Von Teese is set to play a notorious double agent in a new film.
The former wife of rocker Marilyn Manson will star in a biopic of the life of Mata Hari, real name Margaretha Geertruida Zelle, who was executed during the First World War for giving information to the Germans.
Hari, an exotic Dutch dancer, was employed as a spy for the French and acted as a courtesan to several high-ranking military officers for the allies, before being uncovered as a supposed traitor.
"Dita has done a little acting before and I think she can handle it," said the film's director Martha Fiennes', younger sister of actors Ralph and Joseph.
"In fact, I approached her myself. She is perfect for the part. I have written the script but it will probably need some developing, so I don't expect filming to start for another eight to ten months."
