Disney have ruined the OSCAR chances of Dennis Quaid's new movie The Alamo, after postponing its release till next April (04).

Film-makers say they need more time to finish the film about the historic site in San Antonio, Texas - so they have axed its planned Christmas Day (25DEC03) release.

The move means The Alamo - which stars Quaid as SAM HOUSTON and BILLY BOB THORNTON as DAVY CROCKETT - won't qualify for the 2003 Academy Awards, where it was expected to be a major contender.
