Diplo's electronic trio was among the top draws at the Chicago, Illinois event over the weekend (29-31Jul16), but its loud Friday night set reportedly blew the generators, causing Major Lazer's light show and big screens to frequently flicker or go dark during their concert, according to Billboard.com.
The electric issues marred the 90-minute headlining gig, with many crowdmembers starting to file out before singer MO joined Diplo and co. onstage for the finale performance of their huge summer smash, Lean On.
Meanwhile, festival founder Perry Farrell helped to celebrate the event's 25th anniversary on Saturday (30Jul16) by hitting the stage with his band Jane's Addiction, and introducing a few special guests along the way.
Rage Against the MAChine's Tom Morello was invited to play guitar on Mountain Song, while the Smashing Pumpkins' Jimmy Chamberlin drummed on Jane Says.
Other top acts over the weekend included Martin Garrix, Miike Snow, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Disclosure, while LCD Soundsystem and Bloc Party are scheduled to close out the festival on Sunday (31Jul16).
