Executives at DreamWorks/Paramount are "scrambling" to make sure Diana Ross gets an invite to Monday's (11DEC06) DREAMGIRLS premiere after mistakenly sending her pass to the wrong agent. Ross, whose story inspired the hit musical which is set to light up cinemas this Christmas (06) with Beyonce Knowles in the lead role, has never been a fan of the adaptation, and movie bosses were hoping to win her over with a pass to the Los Angeles premiere. But, in the rush to promote the film, assistants at the studio sent Ross' invites to her former agent and it was only when internet movie insider TOM O'NEIL rang to make sure Ross would be on the red carpet on Monday night that the mistake was realised. The GoldDerby.com editor says, "Apparently, the invitation was sent to agent ED LIMATO at ICM, who doesn't represent Diana anymore... CAA has not informed her that an invite has arrived. "I relayed this info to a source close to the film, who assures me that it's an unfortunate goof that will be resolved soonest with an invite dispatched to Diana pronto. "Diana, mind you, has no intention of attending, but she does want the invitation because she wants acknowledgment from the makers of a film that's obviously based upon her and the SUPREMES."
