Former Destiny's Child star LaTavia Roberson has thanked fans for their prayers after losing her unborn child.
The singer was expecting a little girl, a sibling for three-year-old daughter Lyric, but she was hospitalised in a critical condition in early July (16) after experiencing pregnancy complications, and now LaTavia has opened up about the heartbreaking loss in a post on Instagram, in which she expresses her gratitude for all of her fans' well wishes.
She writes, "Hey lovers! I do truly appreciate every prayer and everything positive that was sent my way."
The 34-year-old, a devout Christian, goes on to admit her faith has pulled her through the tough time: "I was, in fact, in the hospital. And during that time, unfortunately, I lost my daughter but MY GOD never makes mistakes. Thank you for your ongoing prayers! I know my angel is watching over our family!!! I love you all".
At the time of her hospitalisation, reports suggested LaTavia had been left her "fighting for her life", but she played down her own health struggles in a post online last month (Jul16).
"Although initial reports of my 'fighting for my life' weren't completely accurate, I was in fact in critical medical condition," she explained, before promising to share the full details at a later date. "While there is more to this story, I sincerely appreciate you my lovers for your support and most importantly for respecting the privacy of my family and I during this time. God restores, HIS will is done."
The singer rose to fame as one of the original members of Beyonce's R&B group Destiny's Child, but she and fellow bandmate LeToya Luckett departed in 2000 and were replaced by Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin.
Franklin also subsequently left the line-up just months later, with remaining band members Beyonce, Michelle and Kelly Rowland continuing on as a trio until parting ways in 2006 to pursue solo careers.
